1One of the worst games I have EVER playedAug 10, 2010
I am so happy that I rented this game from gamefly, because I was considering buying it... This is the one of the worst games that I have ever played. I have been playing for hours and have yet to figure out how to beat the second fight in the game, in which Piccolo and Goku fight Radditz, The first fight should have given me a clue, I mean I was getting my butt kicked as Radditz by Goku and Krillan, Then you have to fight him and I can not win, I tried playing the lame tutorial which makes you save after you learn a single item, it takes forever to learn how to play this game, you learn how to move forwards, after someone demos moving, or you learn how to push x five times after that is also demonstrated and then the game saves and makes you load the next little tid bit. On top of that gameplay is so complex it is not really fun. I am playing on normal and the person I am fighting has twice as much life as I do, and I can not switch between my two fighters, or get them to do anything except fly through the air after having been kicked or punched, The cut scenes in the fight also serve to screw you over, Many times I was about to hit Radditz when cut scene and he is suddenly fully powered up and shooting me with a beam I am supposed to block but do not have the time to. I have had this game for a couple of hours and it is so bad that I am going to be sending it back right now, the same day that I got it, I mean games are supposed to be fun, their is supposed to be a slow increase in the difficulty and learning how to play should be built in, not something that takes an hour or slow and tedious play, I am really disappointed I wanted to like this game, but I can not see the point in keeping it in my house for even a second longer, And a lot of these reviews are bogus, I bet, because this game is awful, I saw one five star that a person wrote where he even said I get the game tomorrow, Granted I have not had the game for that long, but I have been playing for hours and have yet to beat the second fight... This game is in my top five worst games ever, It frustrated the hell out of me. I can not imagine kids being able to play this game, it is just to hard, and if I am supposed to play the game on easy that seems lame.

5Great for DBZ fans.Jul 25, 2010
A great game with very few flaws. The combat is fun, and there's alot of content. The graphics are great if you like cell-shading. The camera isn't nearly as bad as some people claim, though it can be bothersome. The trophies are also quite difficult; don't be expecting a platinum anytime soon.

Overall, this was an awesome game. I definitely recommend it for DBZ fans.

3More of the sameJun 16, 2010
Dragon ball has not changed much since the first budokai tenkaichi. The only difference between this one and Tenkaichi 3 is that super/ultimate moves are controlled with the right stick. Oh and there are LESS characters to choose from. Tenkaichi 3 was better. While the game was still moderately fun, dragon ball is dead to me as far as I'm concerned, unless they step it up with the innovation...

3Raging Buyer Things you must know before buying!May 31, 2010
As a DBZ fan, it hurts to be this honest, but someone has to do it. I loved this game when I was going through the training, but as I played the Dragonball story missions, I noticed glitches, lagging and if you're planning on completing all of the sagas, there are some things you must know because you WILL notice them.

Pros
~ crazy game detail
it's amazing how you can see the faces of the opponents as you deliver a heavy blow.

~ Added features!
Like instant teleportation (or vanishing) whenever you want. You can't teleport close to your opponent if your far away, thought.

~ moves don't cover the whole battlefield like the other games.

~ Newly added moves called "signature skills" that are the hallmarks of the characters.
Instant tagging with other teammates. The designers have also included a tagging interception ability among other

~ manga-like cut scenes. I enjoy watching them. Also the opening cut scenes can be skipped-- there's nothing more annoying than unskippable cut scenes.

~ Never before seen characters
One word. Super Saiyan 3 Broly. Okay, maybe 3 words.

~ Amazing intricate customization system.
It's like a game in a game.

~ many game story scenarios-- I think there's one for every DBZ episode where there was fighting.

~ awesome loading game-- now you can get money while waiting for your game to load.

Cons

-- VEXING GAMEPLAY
At least once every 3 games, the game camera will loose you and your opponent, leaving you to blindly fight yourself out of a corner.

the action is off--
-- that is-- there is a lag between combos. This is especially obvious when your trying to link combos together.

-- Sometimes your melee attacks cause damage, but your opponents don't flinch. This sometimes happens when you're trying to link combos together.

-- Online versus:
INSANE online competition that takes advantage of game flaws.

Game is not as universal as previous versions
limited amount of combos
not as many characters as the games before.
-- laggiy moves
Some moves have a HUGE lag after you do them.

-- Sometimes impossible mission goals.
The game sometimes requires you hit your opponent with moves within a 5 second time span. The problem is-- the time to perform these actions, called "perfect actions", comes without warning. So, when the game tells you to use the ultimate attack, you have 5 seconds to power up to the max, find your opponent, and successfully use the attack.

-- glitch automatic lock off
Sometimes, your moves don't hit your opponent. You fight right past them as though they sidestepped-- but they didn't. This happens a lot when you start combos as your opponent gets up.

-- Perfect Actions:
These are moves you must successfully hit your opponent with in a 5 second time span. The problem is, if you're opponent is in the middle of a combo, or dashing away from you, or you don't have enough energy to complete the action-- you're screwed. I once had to repeat a mission 5 times.

-- objective glitches
Sometimes you will complete an objective, but the game will not show it as completed.
The voice acting is SO synchronized with the actual mouth movement, it is ridiculous.

-- Mission replay
If you want to complete any saga past the Saiyan Saga, you're going to have to repeat missions to earn "stars" which can help you buy missions to complete other sagas. This means you're going to have to complete each mission at least TWICE (assuming you never fail) Each bonus objective completed in addition to beat a mission has 3 stars

Trophies--
If you want that platinum-- and we all do--

4Its Pretty decent!May 02, 2010
This game has a great concept and a lot of potentia, but also has some glitches that i just cant get down with. If you ever played any previous DBZ games, this one is kinda/somewhat similar to the budokia series. The game egine is of course different, but it reminds those games. The buttons are fairly easy, but still takes some getting used to. The game itself seems a little harder than any of the other DBZ games. The main problem that I have with this game is that the camrea angle can get a little funky from time to time. What I mean by that is during a match you can knock your opponent into a wall and then wont be able to see him or yourself when your right in his face. This can cause you to get beaten while your trying to figure out where you character is on the screen.
