4A great game that buckles a bit under the weight of its predecessorSep 08, 2010
Let me start by saying what quite a few reviewers have said...Bioshock 2 is a great game. It's fun to play, has an interesting story, and the gameplay mechanics feel pretty close to spot on. If I said that about most games I'm sure I'd be giving it 5 stars, but Bioshock set a standard that was very difficult to match, much less surpass. I would say (and most seem to agree) one of the best parts of the original game was the sense of discovery in exploring Rapture. I remember many times thinking things like: "What is this place? What was that? What the heck is going on here?" Bioshock 2 really doesn't have those "whoa" moments, as everything is for the most part all too familiar. Clearly the developers for the first Bioshock realized this and decided to go in a different direction with Infinite. Perhaps that makes Bioshock 2 more or less "let's make some money" filler material, but even given that it's still a very good game. I loved Bioshock, and ultimately greatly enjoyed Bioshock 2...it's greatest sin was in having followed one of the most original games on any next-gen console. Much like returning to Disneyland as an adult...it may not be as magical, but it's still a fun ride.

5Great game, marvelous storySep 07, 2010
I'm a semi-casual player and have a hard time finishing most games, but Bioshock 2 (and the original) at the "easy" setting was extremely gratifying. For those who wish games were a little more conceptually rigorous, Bioshock also has a great narrative (very Ayn Rand).

4Bioshock 1.5Aug 21, 2010
It's Bioshock, which is good, but this is hardly what I would consider a sequel. Improvements to the game play make it worth playing, but lower your expectations if you are expecting this title to raise the bar.

5Instant Classic!!Aug 21, 2010
I've heard people complain about how it is a lot like the original, but is that a bad thing? I found the story to be as good as the first, if not better, but that's just my opinion. The gameplay is largely the same, except for a few minor positive tweaks (dual-wield, improved plasmids, new hacking mini-game). Bioshock 1 and 2 are easily some of the best games out there. I definitely reccommend it to fans of the first Bioshock and newcomers!

5Bioshock 2: The sequel to my favorite gameAug 20, 2010
When I finished the first Bioshock recently, I was just in awe with the gameplay, graphics, and most of all the story. So I knew I had to play the second Bioshock. The second installation to the first game doesn't change many elements except the hacking system and the ability to use 2 plasmids to mix their effects. This game doesn't seem much different from the first game, but it does keep you hooked like the first game. I recommend this game if you have finished the first and enjoyed it.
